Blocked Manhole Repairs (Sept-Oct 2013)

Buried Manhole and self planted Oak Tree roots uncovered

Tree cut down and roots excavated for removal before repairs manhole

Flooded 1922 Manhole unblocked by High Pressure Water Jetting of unroddable 4" stone filled Running Trap + 45deg Bend + 45deg Yjunction into adjacent 6" carrier drain at 90deg to inlet direction. All brickwork and pipework still in excellent condition, & the 30 year old substandard DIY seal round duct where stones got in can be seen top left

Manhole prepared for external concrete strengthening & making good 30 year old void

Void in manhole wall repaired and duct capped inside manhole until required in future

Manhole concrete protection added and partially backfilled, prior to raising cover by 6" to garden level for easy future inspection.
